Lesson Learned

As young parents you often wonder how much your kids really listen to your converstations outside of what you say directly to them. Of course you have to mind your P's & Q's because they are like little sponges and record players; but it is when they repeat something with the same emphasis that you have said it, at sometime in the past that really catches you off guard. Case in point: While driving in a strip mall to find a particular resteraunt Matt and I are discussing where it could be...Brenden must have thought Matt was getting worked up and promplty responds "Dad, calm down!". Of course as I am laughing Matt's response to me is..."that just isn't right". Kids hear more than we think they do.

Callis Kiddos Chatterbox

When driving home Brenden said to me "Mommy you are the boss..." I said "Yes I am", then he says, "you tell people they are bad". Well I hope that isn't true. =0)

While out on a walk in the neighborhood Sofi and I saw a worm on the sidewalk, Sofi says "Mom!" I turned around and said "What", she says "look a snake" with such a frightful voice. I looked at her and said "No Honny it is a worm". Then every other worm we saw she had to inspect.

Sofi

Today when putting Sofi into her car seat she says "Mommy somethings in my eye" I looked at it and said to her "what is it?" not seeing anything. She said to me "it's a ladybug"...I just cracked up.

The Little Things

Hopefully you are enjoying my blog and updates. I am trying really hard to keep it up. I just was realizing today in a society that appears to be growing more selfish and less caring that it is the little things in life that make us happy and that make life worth living. Here are just some examples of what makes me laugh:

Brenden: A conversation I had with him the other day regarding a bruise on my leg. Brenden says "Mommy look at your ouie. I said I know honny do you want to give it a kiss (of course that is what I do for him)? He looks a me with a frown and says, NO!"

Sofi: We were making dinner and she was sitting at the table. Out of the blue she says "Oh my gosh" and with such emphasis.

Those are the things that make me smile.
